Car damages and thefts in Didsbury and Carstairs
A vehicle in Didsbury was damaged Jan. 29, between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m.
The vehicle was parked on the street in front of a residence on 23rd Avenue, where around five or six people were observed to be walking down the street, making noise.
The passenger mirror was found bent back and the tail light smashed. Damage is estimated at $200 but was not reported until the next day.
A work vehicle at the Crop Production Services in the Didsbury area was also found damaged.
The lock on the driver’s side of the vehicle had been punched out. This occurred some time between 5 p.m. on Jan. 30 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 31.
An overnight theft occurred in Cremona between 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 5 p.m. Jan. 30.
A locked vehicle was parked behind a residence on 1st Street and was entered, with a GPS, two DVD players and DVDs stolen from inside.
Estimated cost of the stolen goods is still pending.
A second theft occurred in Carstairs between 6 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 30.
An unlocked vehicle parked in a garage on the 600 block of 10th Avenue was entered, and change in the ashtray and a dog leash were stolen.
On Jan. 30, at around 11:45 a.m., a male wearing a red sweater and black jacket entered Barley’s Pub in Carstairs.
The male was described as taller than six feet with a dark moustache.
The male entered the pub and was briefly playing the lottery machines when an employee went into the back.
The male then went to the till, stole the cash float, and departed on foot.
RCMP are currently investigating all cases and anyone with information is asked to call the detachment or CrimeStoppers.
