Theft of tools

RCMP are reminding people to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in construction areas, after a large amount of equipment and tools were stolen from a cargo trailer.

“The incident occurred between Feb. 12 at 8 a.m. and Feb. 16, when it was reported at 7:30 a.m.,” said Sgt. Jeff Jacobson, detachment commander with the Didsbury RCMP.

The trailer was left at a construction site on Havenfield Drive in Carstairs. “The lock on it was cut,” added Sgt. Jacobson.

Estimated value of the loss is in excess of $10,000.

Mischief at the Curling Club

Didsbury RCMP are investigating a case of mischief that occurred on Feb. 13 between midnight and 8 a.m. at the Carstairs Curling Club.

“Ultimately, someone was trying to gain entry to the building,” said Sgt. Jacobson. “There were some phone lines that were cut on the outside of the building and minor damage to the entrance doors.”

No entry was gained.

“It was noted that there would have been a variety of foot traffic in that area over the evening,” he added. “Certainly, if anyone observed anything suspicious, the culprit might have got scared off. If anyone has seen anything related to this incident, we certainly would appreciate a call.”

Break and enter in Cremona

A garage on Edy Close in Cremona was broken into sometime between Feb. 21 and Feb. 22.

“It looked like it was maybe one person,” said Constable Warren Wright of the Didsbury RCMP. “It’s unknown if anything’s missing at this time. Nothing was stolen that we’re aware of.”

Anyone with information on the prowling can contact the Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3222.
