Two-vehicle collision occurs north of Carstairs
Didsbury RCMP, Carstairs and Didsbury Fire and the provincial EMS responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision north of Carstairs on Feb. 25 on Highway 2A.
The crash occurred at around 6:44 a.m. and involved a yellow SUV heading southbound and a second vehicle, heading northbound.
Police said the SUV was driven by a 25-year-old female from Olds who was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The SUV lost control on the highway and slid sideways into the path of the second vehicle, being operated by a 43-year-old male from Carstairs, according to police.
Both drivers were taken by ground ambulance with serious injuries to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
With fresh snow and ice back on the roads, RCMP encourage drivers to slow down and exercise caution during these winter conditions.
