A visitor from Manitoba received a rude surprise on July 2 when she discovered her purse was stolen from her vehicle.

Didsbury RCMP Sgt. Jeff Jacobson said the theft occurred in the AG Foods parking lot sometime between 5 p.m. and 5:23 p.m.

He said the stolen purse contained the visitor’s cellphone, credit cards and driver’s licence.

Jacobson said the vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.

If anyone has information that could assist RCMP in its investigation of this theft he or she is asked to call 403-335-3382.

Auto repair shop burglarized

Mounties are investigating the theft of auto parts from a shop off Co-op Road.

RCMP said police were notified July 4 but the theft occurred a few weeks before.

Sgt. Jeff Jacobson said parts were removed from an old truck. He added that a drill set was also stolen.

“It was something that would have taken considerable time to remove,” said Jacobson of the theft.

The RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in solving this crime. If any citizen witnessed anything suspicious at the auto shop, particularly late at night, he or she is asked to contact police at 403-335-3382.
