Chamber Chat Another Great Fair Weekend!
The Didsbury Agricultural Society outdid itself again this year! The Thunder on the Valley fireworks display was second to none, the Didsbury Elks/Royal Purple Parade was one of the best we've ever seen, and the
Chamber of Commerce's pancake breakfast on Sunday morning saw another great turnout.
We're not entirely sure how many pancakes 24 kgs of pancake flour makes, but well over 1,000 sausages were devoured by the crowd of about 300. And coffee!! Just exactly how much coffee six kgs makes, or how many glasses of orange juice you get out of 33 liters ... again, we're not sure, but we sure know that no one left the train station hungry!
Volunteers included the gang from ATB Financial: Gerlinde Lea, Sarah Willet, Heather McDonald, and Jan Woolnough; Ken McClain, Wendy & Roger Barker, and several from the Chamber Council itself - what a grand group of volunteers. They kept the Lions grill working steadily for over two hours!
Special thanks go to the sponsors of the breakfast: James Carpenter's CIR Realty team of Marilyn Moncur and Gerry Tonn, Greg Poirier of Didsbury AG Foods, and Ron Boyko from Custom Touch Homes. Without this support from the business community, events like the pancake breakfast just wouldn't happen.
